September is coming, conditions are improving and here comes our
tenth 'Countries' Listening Event. First-time CLE logs also welcome.
 
Days: Friday 24 August - Monday 27 August
Times: Start and end at midday, your local time.
Targets: 'Normal' NDBs (190 - 1740 kHz) - not DGPS, Navtex
or Amateur - located in the Radio Countries whose
codes start with A, B or C.
 
These are our 2-letter codes for the contiguous States and Provinces
of USA and Canada and our 3-letter codes elsewhere.
 
The A-, B- and C- radio countries most likely to be heard are:
 
EUROPE Listeners: ALG, (Algeria), AUT (Austria), AZR (Azores),
BAL (Balearic Is.), BEL (Belgium), BIH (Bosnia-Hercegovina),
BLR (Belarus), BUL (Bulgaria, CNR (Canary Is.), COR (Corsica),
CYP (Cyprus) and CZE (Czech Rep.) - and more, maybe DX.
 
N AMERICA Listeners: AB (Alberta), AL (Alabama), ALS (Alaska),
AR (Arkansas), AZ (Arizona), AZR (Azores), BAH (Bahamas),
BC (British Columbia), BRA (Brazil), CA (California), CLM
(Colombia), CO (Colorado), CUB (Cuba) - and more, maybe DX.
 
Some other countries with one - or a few - easy(?) NDBs are:
ALB, ASC, ATG, AUI, CKS, CYM, CPV and CT.
 
If you are in the east of N. America, or the NW of Europe - yes, it may be
quite a tough challenge for you. Most others should be in luck this time!
Our 'Down-Under' Listeners, often with few targets, are being given
ALL EIGHT of Australia's States - AT, NN, NW, QD, SA, TA, VI and WE.
(Listeners anywhere may log those too).
 
Detailed seeklists are available from the Rxx database (e.g. select SEEKLIST
on the CLE page, reached via http://www.ndblist.info/ ).
 
Please send your CLE log to the List (no attachments and a plain text email
if possible) with CLE160 at the start of its title. Show on each log line:
 
# The Date (or Day No. 24 to 27)
# The Time in UTC (the day changes at 00:00 UTC).
# kHz - the nominal published frequency, if known.
# The Call Ident.
 
Please show those main items FIRST.
Any other optional details such as Country, Location, Distance, etc.
go LATER in the same line.
If you send any interim logs, please also send a 'Final' (complete) log.
Don't forget to tell us your own location and brief details of the equipment
that you were using.
 
I will send the usual 'Any More Logs?' email at about 17:00 UTC on
Tuesday so that you can check that your log has been found OK.
Do make sure that your log has arrived on the List by 08:00 UTC on
Wednesday 29 August at the very latest.
The combined results should be completed on that day.
