Hello all,

It will soon be Listening Event time again - our 140th co-ordinated
listening event is next weekend:

Days: Friday 25th - Monday 28th February
Times: Start and end at midday, your LOCAL TIME
Range: 370 - 384.9 kHz

For most of us, CLE139 involved searching for signals in some
wide open spaces. By contrast, this CLE uses a small frequency
range, only 15 kHz wide, but it is packed with lots of signals and it is
surprising how many NDBs can be heard by some careful listening
at a few different times of day and night.

We last used this range for CLE123 back in October 2009.

Just log all the NDBs you can identify that are listed in the range
(it includes 370 kHz, but not 385 kHz) plus any UNIDs that you come
across there.

Please look out for the final details a few days before the start.
After this, for CLE141 we're planning a NAVTEX event in conjunction
with the NAVTEX DX Group, so it will probably be two months before
our next 'normal' event.

18 of the 30 listeners also took part in the October 2009 CLE when we used
the same frequency range. You will find the table comparing statistics THEN
and NOW at the end of the Excel tables.
The average number of NDBs logged was the same (67) in both events.
The other average statistics each showed a small fall.
Individual and average results are also shown for the other 12 listeners.
