Vihdoinkin vakavasti otettava kilpailija maksulliselle SeaTTY:lle
Kannattaa tutustua:

Hi Navtex-adepts,
Yand 4.3.2 can be downloaded through the link below.
A user manual is only available in Dutch and not included in the download, but I am working on the English version. ( I really LOVE writing manuals :0)
Yand itself is in English though, many fly-over hints are provided, so getting it started should be a straightforward thing.
The few things you should know follow here...
- Vi$ta users ( and some XP-users with "Vista-Ready" sound drivers) will not see the audio input control panel in the upper right corner of the screen, and will have to do all audio settings in Windows. (and should ask Bill Gates why audio was so messed up in Vista)
- XP-users can adjust all audio settings from within Yand.
- Yand does work with VAC ( but I've heard stories about VAC dropping audio under Vista)
- Yand has been tested to work with XP-emulation and VM on Vista.
- I have /no/ idea whether Yand will work under Windows 7. If it doesn't: bad luck for you, I am not going to do any research on this in the foreseeable future. If it /does/ work however, I'd like to know about it :0).
READ ME FIRST
--------------
- The first thing you should do after installing Yand, is go to the Calibration tab and check your soundcard's sample frequency calibration ( do this ONLY with a strong local station). Most desktops will show little or no error, laptops are another story, I have seen errors of >3%. Calibration must be done only once (press SAVE). Calibration is CRUCIAL for the optimum decoding of noisy signals!
- On the Options tab, you need to enter your local coordinates if you want distances to be calculated correctly, as well as sun ephemeris data.
- On the Navtex schedule tab, check/uncheck Navarea's of interest, otherwise you will get a massive table and will have to do a lot of horizontal scrolling.
- Yand tries to identify each received station. This works with the combination of the ID-letter and a database of geografical keywords ( sea areas, harbour names, country names,etc...) Since I live in Belgium, this database is highly optimized for listeners in Western Europe which will see a hit rate of typically 85..90%. Users in other parts of the world will see many UNID's in the log. Feedback on keywords for West Coast USA, South America and Asia are welcome.
http://users.telenet.be/NAVTEX/YAND/INSTALL/ Download yandsetup.exe to your HD, execute and follow instructions.
Hope you enjoy YaND!
Regards, Dirk
