Hi all,

Our 155th co-ordinated listening event starts this Friday at midday.
We can expect some good conditions, comfortable listening and
opportunities to catch some nice DX.
This should be a good one for CLE 'beginners' too.

Days: Friday 6 April to ##Wednesday 11 April
Times: Midday - Midday, your local time
Frequencies:
NDBs from 150 - 239.9 kHz
PLUS Normal NDBs on 'half-way' frequencies (nnn.5 kHz)

So for all of us it is a CLE in two parts - the first part is hunting for
the NDBs whose published frequencies are lower than 240 kHz.
The second part is hunting for the NDBs whose carrier frequencies are
half-way'. E.g. 267.5 OPW, 332.5 CAM, 370.5 LB, 374.5 ANC, 381.5 SJX (in
MI), 403.5 LNL, 413.5 DLS, 514.5 LA. 'Normal' NDBs - no DGPS, please.

(Most Europe listeners will hear very few from part 1 while
listeners away from Europe will hear very few from part 2)

Please send your CLE log to the List, if possible as a plain text email and
not in an attachment, showing 'CLE155' at the start of its title. If you get
loggings from both parts you can show them together in the same list
if you wish.
Please include on EVERY line of your log:

# The date or day number and UTC (the day changes at 00:00 UTC).
(if your local time is being changed about now, UTC is unaffected)
# kHz - the beacon's nominal published frequency.
# The Call Ident.

It is important to show those main items FIRST - any other optional
details such as Location and Distance go LATER in the same line.

Don't forget to give your OWN location and details of your receiver and
aerial(s), etc. - others will be interested to know, especially new members
(and old members with memories like mine!).

Listening on the 'half-way' frequencies means that we might also catch some
interesting non-CLE beacons - do please tell us about those too, but in a
SEPARATE list. If any of them are UNIDs whose carriers seem to be on
'half-way' frequencies, include them in the main list, of course.

I hope to send the 'Any More Logs?' email sometime on ##Thursday evening
(perhaps quite late) so that you can check that your log has been found OK.
Do make sure that your log has arrived on the NDB List at the very latest by
08:00 UTC on ##Friday 13 April. Your loggings will be included in the
combined results, which I hope to complete on that day.

11 of the 18 listeners also took part in CLE137 (Nov. 2010) when
we used the same frequency range. You will find the table comparing
statistics THEN and NOW at the end of the Excel tables.
Most of the average statistics show an improvement of around 10%.
Statistics are also shown for the other 7 listeners.

The Rest of the World results may be completed later today.
