Quote:Hello all,
Here we are, only a week away from our Holiday Listening Event.
This is a challenging, but a fun CLE, based on an idea by Alan - one that we ran very successfully three years ago (CLE86) and four years before that (CLE30). It should be ideal for 'dipping into' in gaps between the festivities, but BEWARE - you may find that, having started, you just can't stop!
It is a "Noah's Ark CLE". Just as the animals went into the ark two by two, so the Radio Countries will go into our logs two by two. In other words, during the course of the event we each try and log TWO NDBs from each of as many Radio Countries as we can - e.g. two from France, two from Spain, two from European Russia, two from the Azores, two from Montana, two from Quebec, etc. - as simple as that! No Amateur, DGPS or Navtex please (our 5th DGPS CLE will be coming soon).
Days: Friday 25th December to Monday 4th January Times: Start and End at midday, your LOCAL TIME Target: TWO NDBs from each Radio Country* Range: 190 - 1740 kHz
*Our Radio Countries are all listed in the Beaconworld site - please see the CLE page, via http://www.beaconworld.org.uk/info.htm . You can try to receive two NDBs from any of them (the two making each pair can be logged at any time during the event).
Noah didn't have single animals in his Ark, but if you only log one NDB from a Country, it will still be welcome in your log without a mate!
This is a great opportunity for listeners who may become eligible for any NDB Listening Awards. Our new Awards Co-ordinator, Joe Miller, invites us to submit requests through Martin Francis's website at: http://www.classaxe.com/dx/ndb/reu/?mode=signal_list or http://www..classaxe.com/dx/ndb/rna/index.php?mode=signal_list . These NDB listening awards are attractive and make great "wallpaper" for any listening shack. Questions can be directed to Joe at radiodxer2000(at)yahoo.com .
Please look out for the full 'Final Details' about the CLE in a few days, together with information about the NDBs most likely to be heard in each of the Radio Countries.
Good listening Brian ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: Brian Keyte G3SIA cle(at)beaconworld.org.uk Location: Surrey, SE England (CLE co-ordinator) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
