Back from work, and I am tuned to 520 looking for OO or OO OO -hi > But instead i found a very strong daytimer CSO on frequency. Almost local. > My bearing is 260/80, and I am pretty sure it is located in the North Sea > somewhere. I took the bearing with my sony 7600G's internal antenna. > > I have never heard it before - so I guess it is not 24/7. ----------------------------------------------------- Matthias Swoch Still on air (1923z). At 520.403 with a fair signal and 1 in 7". I have never seen it before. LSB surely covered by NAVTEX. 73 de Matthias ------------------------------------------------------- Peter Conway g3ufi Hearing CSO-520 here, on 519.600 / 520.400 with 2s gaps. Signal rather prone to deep fading at present 2000 utc. Can't get a decent bearing at this time. Will keep a watch on channel. ------------------------------------------------------- Roelof Bakker UNID CSO-520 is audible here as well at 21:10 UTC It suffers from fading quite a bit, so I think is not very close. My guess is around 800 - 1000 km It certainly is coming from the north. My "static fighter" is on and eliminates the static from the south. Maybe I can make a bearing when the static is a bit less. It is very bad tonight. ----------------------------------------------------------- Peter Conway g3ufi CSO-520 – the loop seems to indicate the nulls are around NW/SE roughly so best direction seems NE/SW But fading doesn’t help the check too much. Certainly don’t think it will be a daytimer here – will check tomorrow. Fairly good signal at 2127utc. |

Aihe: Re: CSO - joko mysteeri ratkeaa Kirjoittaja OH5YW Pvm 11.10.07 - 20:19:30 Very good signal indeed this morning, bearing between 300° and 330° on 520.400 kHz (offshore North of Scottland ?). Anyway a new one for me ! Happy listening Dominique from Normandy/France ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I got the best signal with my ALA1530 in 330 deg position. The signal was fair when I checked it at 1923. It decreased rapidly. Offshore? 73 de Matthias <matthiaszwoch(at)yahoo.de |

Aihe: Re: CSO - joko mysteeri ratkeaa Kirjoittaja OH5YW Pvm 13.10.07 - 15:32:05 I too heard CSO last night, stronger on -400, but it didn't last for a long time. Did some googling on CSO and found these links that may be worth looking at, maybe one of them have a beacon with the id CSO. http://www.shipsandharbours.com/picture/number2465.asp http://www.shipsandharbours.com/picture/number1850.asp http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/flibs2/Survey%20Vessels/CSO%20Orelia%201.htm http://www.ship-technology.com/projects/deep_blue/ http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=505746 Best regards Torbjorn in Sweden |
